On Tuesday, April 16, Vulcan will undergo his annual inspection atop Red Mountain. Securing themselves to the statue by ropes, workers from Robinson Iron of Alexander City will check the 109 year old, 56- foot-tall iron statue from his toes to the top of his head for possible problems such as moisture or rust, and make sure his bolts are tight.
