Birmingham, AL – On Tuesday, March 11 at 8:30 a.m., Vulcan will undergo his annual inspection atop Red Mountain. Securing themselves to the statue by ropes, workers from Robinson Iron of Alexander City and Staff from Vulcan Painters will check the 110 year old, 56- foot-tall iron statue from his toes to the top of his head for possible problems such as moisture or rust, and make sure his bolts are tight.
