Kelly Harden Greene is the Founder and Executive Director of Food For Our Journey. Food For Our Journey (FFOJ) is a 501c3 that exists to bring meals to those experiencing homelessness and the food insecure by eliminating their need for transportation and by reducing food waste by partnering with local restaurants, hotels, catering companies, churches, businesses, and individuals who donate/prepare the meals.
FFOJ utilizes a food truck to deliver food, water, hygiene, etc., to the unhoused in our community. FFOJ serves seven days a week, building relationships with their friends, allowing trust to develop where they feel safe to share with FFOJ their immediate needs. From needing assistance with medicine, clothing, and hygiene to obtaining IDs, employment, and/or housing, FFOJ is able to network with their sister agencies and “plug in” their brothers and sisters, ensuring these needs can be met.
Although Kelly has been working within our city with our friends experiencing homelessness since the early 90s, FFOJ is a team effort. It is very much a passion shared by family and friends, all of whom work and volunteer for FFOJ in all aspects of the non-profit.
With her family and friends by her side, Kelly is humbled by the privilege of serving and walking the journey with those she serves on the street daily.
