The Annual Teacher’s Symposium Returns to Vulcan Park [Register Today!]

Vulcan Park and Museum will be holding its annual Symposium and Teacher’s workshop presented by the Birmingham Bar Association with support from the UAB School of Education on November 2, 2016 from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. This year’s focus will be on Civic Education and how teachers can encourage their students to be active citizens and future leaders and will feature Paul DeMarco, Attorney and former State Legislator, as the keynote speaker.

Practical classroom activities will be taught by members of the UAB School of Education Faculty and local Social Studies teachers will connect directly with the Social Studies Standards in the College and Career Ready Standards and the new C3 Framework set forth by the National Council for the Social Studies.

Cost to attend the symposium is $50 per teacher (including lunch).

This year’s event is generously presented by the Birmingham Bar Association with support from the UAB School of Education.
