VULCAN PARK & MUSEUM WELCOMES NEW STAFF MEMBERS
Birmingham, Ala.– Vulcan Park and Museum (VPM) is proud to announce that Cynthia Cardona, Shiloh Groover, Rylee Jones and Jamie Hoven have joined the staff.
VPM welcomes Cynthia Cardona as the new Director of Museum Operations. A native of the Orlando area, Cynthia’s love of museums began at an early age, prompting her to pursue a B.A. and M.A. in history from the University of Central Florida. While working on her Master’s degree, Cynthia served as Photo Archivist at the Orange County Regional History Center before being promoted to Curator of Collections. She later served as Director of Operations for the Art & History Museums-Maitland, and most recently as Executive Director of the Winter Garden Heritage Foundation.
VPM welcomes Shilo Groover and Rylee Jones as Event Facility Managers. Shilo will be responsible for selling and marketing VPM’s popular event facility, managing all vendors involved with private events and maintaining excellent client relations. She joins VPM with seven years of experience from the Birmingham City Council as Councilor Steven W. Hoyt’s Administrative Assistant and brings over 10 years of experience in event planning and client relations. You may recognize Shilo Groover from her years as a reporter and news producer for WBRC, and previously with ABC 33/40. A graduate of George Washington University with a BA in Journalism, she started her career as an event planner at the Wynfrey (now the Hyatt at the Galleria). Rylee Jones, who is completing her MBA at Samford, worked in events while pursuing her Bachelor of Arts and Sciences in Communications. She served as an Assistant Planner for Kendal Perry Wedding Planning Company, and was previously on the events staff at Brick & Rose Event Boutique in Helena.
VPM welcomes Jamie Hoven as Communications Coordinator. Jamie received her BA in Communication and Information Sciences from the University of Alabama, with a double major in Public Relations and Spanish. Jamie comes to VPM after working at the Tuscaloosa Tourism and Sports Commission where she served as the Graphic Designer and Digital Media Specialist. Jamie has been active in a number of community and professional organizations, including serving as a Chamber Ambassador in Tuscaloosa.
