Aaron Lee Tasjan and Early James to Close the Series with a Bang
Birmingham, Ala. – The 2017 Vulcan AfterTunes fall concert series presented by Regions Bank will wrap up this Sunday, October 29 with a performance by Americana artist Aaron Lee Tasjan with Birmingham’s own Early James.
Aaron Lee Tasjan’s songs, as first heard on his debut solo Crooked River Burning, are indebted to great American storytellers like John Prine, Tom Petty, and more. His 2016 self-released album, In The Blazes, received accolades from American Songwriter, Rolling Stone, Nashville Scene and NPR and suggested Tasjan was an artist “to keep an eye on.” While that album hinted at Tasjan’s enormous potential, it’s his New West Records debut, Silver Tears, that best realizes his artistic ambitions and solidifies him as one of the most intriguing singer/songwriters to emerge in sometime.
Early James is a blues/folk musician based in Birmingham. At age 23, he has been playing music and entertaining for eight years. He attempts to spin what perhaps has not been spun before: a so-called “fresh” take on folk, blues, jazz, and country with dark, rusty, crooner-esque stylings.
Local and regional beer available for purchase will include options from Good People Brewing Company, Cigar City Brewing Company, and Founders Brewing Company, provided by AlaBev. Wine selections will be provided by Piggly Wiggly Birmingham. The Dreamland BBQ food truck will be onsite.
Vulcan Park and Museum has also brought back the kids zone sponsored by Alabama Baby & Child Magazine that will truly make Vulcan AfterTunes fun for the whole family!
