Paul DeMarco and Birmingham Bar Foundation to Headline Annual Teacher Symposium at Vulcan® Park and Museum
Birmingham, Ala. – Former state of Alabama representative and Homewood attorney, Paul DeMarco, will be the keynote speaker at Vulcan Park and Museum’s Annual Teacher Symposium and Workshop on Wednesday, November 2 from 9:00 am until 3:00 pm. The 2016 event is presented by the Birmingham Bar Foundation.
The 2016 agenda will appropriately focus on Civic Education and how teachers can encourage their students to be active citizens and future leaders. Practical classroom activities will be taught by members of the UAB School of Education faculty and will connect directly with the social studies standards in the College and Career Ready Standards as well as the new C3 Framework set forth by the National Council for the Social Studies.
This symposium and workshop is open to all teachers and administrators, public or private. Tickets are $50 and include lunch, materials, a guided tour of the Vulcan Center museum, and free admission to Vulcan’s observation tower and park.
