COVID – 19 UPDATE

For generations, Vulcan has stood atop Red Mountain watching over Birmingham amidst challenges and trials.  Today is no different, as Vulcan Park & Museum finds itself in unusual times as does the rest of the world.

With this in mind, we have made a difficult decision to close Vulcan Center beginning March 17 until further notice to help mitigate the spread of COVID-19.

Understanding the fluidity of the current issue, the following adjustments have been made:

  • The park grounds, including Kiwanis Centennial Plaza, will remain open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily, free of charge.
  • All student and adult programs have been canceled.
  • For any private event, please contact the event organizer for more information.

As a safety measure, staffing will be limited. We do ask that you are mindful of your impact on the grounds, parking lots and public areas at Vulcan Park & Museum.

We will continue to monitor and assess all developments with the health and safety of our staff, volunteers and visitors as our top priority.  Please continue to check the website or follow on all social channels for updates.

Thank you for your patience and understanding in this period of uncertainty.
